Dr. Saira Waheed is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the CORE Department at the College of Sciences and Humanities, Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University. She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and specializes in cosmology and astrophysics. Her research focuses on general relativity, modified gravity theories, and exact solutions derived through Noether symmetries, as well as the study of wormholes, black holes, and dynamical systems analysis, including fixed-point theory.
Dr. Waheed has an extensive research portfolio, with over 75 publications in high-impact ISI-indexed journals and conference proceedings, including six single-authored papers. Her work has received significant recognition and has been cited multiple times in the Nature Index over the past five years.
With more than a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Waheed has demonstrated a strong commitment to student engagement and the effective use of educational technology to enhance learning outcomes. She is recognized for her ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner, supported by strong classroom management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Looking ahead, Dr. Waheed’s research aims to address fundamental questions in cosmology, particularly the nature of dark matter and the mechanisms driving cosmic acceleration. She is especially interested in leveraging next-generation observational facilities and interdisciplinary approaches that integrate cosmology, particle physics, and data science.
