Dr. Shaista Rashid holds a  PhD in Computer Science and BSc (Hons) in Computing and Information Systems (accredited by the British Computer Society) from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.  She is an enthusiastic academic with extensive experience in curriculum development, quality assurance and accreditation, and leading the development of high-impact industry collaborations.    

Her comprehensive expertise span across digital business, data analytics and business intelligence, human computer interaction, information systems security and cryptography, database design and development, as well as networking and IT infrastructure.  Her background also encompasses quality frameworks and assurance, enabling her to contribute strategically and effectively to academic and institutional excellence.

Dr. Rashid's research focuses on digital transformation with particular emphasis on the dynamic relationship between human behavior and technological advancements across diverse business and educational domains.  Her work encompasses cognition, multimodality and sensory perceptions, the integration of intelligent systems, artificial intelligence, big data and analytics, and information security. 

Her scholarly contributions include publications in book chapters, journals and conference proceedings.  Her research on multimodality in education has received international recognition, earning a Best Paper Award.  To advance research dialogue, Dr. Rashid has served as Vice-Chairperson for academic seminars in both the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia and continues to contribute as a reviewer for international organisations.  In the UK, she has also co-supervised a doctoral researcher under the PhD thesis track.
