Having graduated with a PhD of Applied Mathematics in 2016 from Federation University Australia, which is one of the leading Australian universities in Applied Mathematics, Dr Sorena Artin has more than a decade academic work experience in different colleges and universities.
As an Applied Mathematician, Dr. Artin has published several research articles in academic journals and presented in international conferences around the world. His main research interest is on non-deterministic optimization models and their applications in electricity power networks. He designed a couple of novel optimization models and used them in his own PhD project that was awarded by several research grants. He has received a couple of awards and scholarships for his research activities including three prestigious highly competitive research scholarships for his PhD project. He has also supervised many research students in their research projects.
During his academic career, Dr. Artin has developed and moderated a large number of online, face to face and blended subjects and courses in Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analysis, IT and Computer Science for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. He has been Academic Manager of IT Faculty at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia as well as Unit Coordinator in Western Sydney University and also Asia Pacific International College. Further, Sorena’s teaching expertise lies in the areas of Calculus, Engineering Mathematics, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, and Optimization.
Since moving to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia early 2021, Dr. Artin started exploring research activities and opportunities in the Kingdom with a focus on the Saudi Vision 2030 to collaborating with other researchers and contributing to excellence of the continuous improvements of both Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
