Dr. B. Ratna Sunil is an Indian national, working as an Associate Research Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at PMU, KSA. Dr. Sunil has 15 years of experience in teaching and research in the fields of Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Processes and Surface Engineering.

Dr. Sunil has been listed in world top 2% scientists announced by Stanford University, USA, consecutively for four years (2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023). Dr. Sunil has published more than 125 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and a book titled “Surface Engineering by Friction-Assisted Processes: Methods, Materials, and Applications” available with CRC Press, USA. From the research findings, Dr. Sunil has filed 16 Indian patents among them 5 have been granted. He received several awards and recognitions, including the Sudarshan Bhat Memorial Best PhD Thesis Award from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India, and the Bajpai-SAHA Award from the Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs India. He is an Associate Fellow (elected, 2017) of Andhra Pradesh Akademy of Sciences.

Dr. Sunil is eager to work with the researchers of international repute to promote research outcome at PMU in the interdisciplinary fields for the growth of science and technology. 

 

Dr. Sunil received his B.E. degree from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, India, in 2004, M.E. degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India in 2007, and his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, in 2014.
