Dr. Muhammad Babar is an accomplished academic and researcher with over a decade of teaching, research, and academic leadership experience. He is a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE) and is listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the Stanford–Elsevier global ranking. He is currently an Associate Professor of Software Engineering at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU), Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Software Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, a QS Top-400 university, with a specialization in Software Engineering and Big Data Analytics, and subsequently pursued his postdoctoral research at Prince Sultan University (PSU), Saudi Arabia, a QS Top-500 university. Dr. Babar has published around 100 research articles in leading and reputed journals, transactions, and international conferences, including prominent IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer venues. His key research interests include Federated Learning, Big Data Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Smart Cities. He currently serves as an Associate Editor of Springer’s Journal of Big Data and actively contributes to the international research community through editorial, reviewing, and conference activities. Prior to joining PMU, Dr. Babar held academic and research positions at HITEC University, Prince Sultan University, Allama Iqbal Open University, and Iqra University, where he also undertook several academic leadership and accreditation roles. His academic distinctions include merit-based scholarships for his Ph.D. and MS studies, as well as Silver and Bronze Medals for academic excellence.
