Dr. Dilsad attended two of India’s top-ranked universities, where he earned a total of four degrees, including B.P.E., M.P.Ed., M.Phil. (Lakshmibai National University of PE) and Ph.D. (SGB Amravati University). He also pursued M.S. in Kinesiology from Oregon State University, USA and worked in the same university as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Furthermore, he obtained his Postdoctoral experiences from University of Macau, Macau, and University of Alberta, Canada. He was also a Visiting Scholar at Korea Institute of Sports Science, South Korea. Currently, Dilsad is working is an Assistant Professor (Physical Education) (PE) in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at PMU, KSA. He can fluently speak English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Sylheti. He also knows basic Korean.
To date he has authored/coauthored >60 journal articles (indexing with Scopus, WoS, SCI, SSCI); presented his work at conferences in Canada, Hungary, India, Malaysia, and South Korea; received funding from multiple institutions and organizations; and appeared on Indian National television shows (e.g., “Protidin Times”, “News Live”, “Assam Talks”) where he has discussed the current status of physical education in India and chronicled his own life experiences. His efforts have been recognized with multiple awards and honors. He also believes in practising what he preaches.
The breadth and depth of his academic preparation and career experiences allow him to seamlessly collaborate with others, as well as independently lead major research initiatives aimed at advancing physical activity initiatives from both educational and public health perspectives, as well as making conceptual, methodological, and practical advancements in PE, and sport psychology.
Beyond this academic work, he has participated in various youth festivals as a musician and solo vocalist. His album, “Khubsurat SI” is available through Youtube (Search name: Dr. Dilsad Ahmed). Finally, and most importantly, he is a devoted husband, father, and family man.
