Lina Alzayer has over a decade of experience in academia as a faculty member in the College of Sciences and Human Studies (CSHS), specializing in Environment and Sustainable Development. Her research focuses on environmental data analysis, resource efficiency, and sustainable management of utilities including recycling and waste management. Her recent project emphasized the mitigation of pollutants such as microplastics and pharmaceuticals, aligning with global sustainability goals.

Currently, Alzayer is engaged in advancing sustainability practices within academic and institutional settings, with particular interest in sustainability benchmarking and ESG integration. She is interested in contributing to improved sustainability performance through advancing data-driven solutions that align with national and global sustainability goals. Her recent work in this regard highlighted the Institutional Participation and Youth Perspectives of Sustainable development at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University.

Beyond academia, Lina has collaborated with international organizations like UNESCO on sustainability initiatives and has actively engaged with regional sustainability platforms, including participation in forums such as MENA Climate Week. Over the years, Alzayer has been recognized with several prestigious awards for excellence in environmental and sustainability research including:

  • Leadership Excellence for Women in the Oil and Gas Sector (LEWAS) Academic Achievement Award
