Dr. Ku Zilati Ku Shaari is a faculty member in Chemical Engineering with extensive experience in teaching, academic leadership, research, and university administration. Her expertise includes chemical engineering, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), process engineering, thermodynamics, separation processes, and sustainable technologies.
She has held senior academic leadership positions and has successfully led initiatives in academic quality, student affairs, strategic planning, and institutional development. She has secured research funding exceeding RM20 million through national and industrial grants and has published extensively in high-impact international journals, with an H-index of 23.
Her research focuses on sustainable process engineering, renewable energy, environmental remediation and advanced reactor technologies. She is passionate about integrating research excellence with quality teaching and fostering collaborations between academia and industry.
She is committed to developing future engineers through innovative teaching, impactful research, and professional service while contributing to the advancement of higher education and sustainable engineering solutions.

- This is an AKEPT grant granted to UTM to develop a module for MOHE/MOE. This module provides a guidelines and minimum requirement for all Malaysian higher institution industrial internship program. The team consists of academicians from other IPTAS in Malaysia (UTM, UPM, UUM, UM, UIA). UTP is the only representative from IPTS. AKEPT is currently using this module to conduct training for master trainers of all higher institution in Malaysia.

- Coordinate task force for a new curriculum review involving the restructuring of course syllabus and adding new course.
- Promote research activity among the faculty members in the cluster.
