Ms. Jane Morrissey is an Irish Canadian national working as an English Instructor in the Preparatory Program at PMU, KSA.
She received her BA degree from the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada in 1996, her CELTA from International House, Bangkok, Thailand in 2008 and her MA TESOL from the Institute of Education, UCL, London, England in 2014. Ms. Morrissey has also taken part in a number of professional development opportunities through her career, most notably in Instructional Technology/Educational design at the University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands in 2017.
Ms. Morrissey has over 17 years of experience in teaching English to adults in the UK, Japan and Saudi Arabia. Her professional focus has been on reading, writing, speaking, high stakes applications (educational and professional) and curriculum development in both higher education (up to postgraduate level) and professional business settings. Ms. Morrissey has also worked as an IELTS Speaking test examiner for the British Council. Her professional interests remain within ESL teaching at the undergraduate level with focus on literacy skills in an effort to enable Saudi students to understand and analyze a range of real-world sources so students will be able to develop and express their academic interests.
Ms. Morrissey wishes to empower PMU students to achieve success in their bachelor programs by developing their written and spoken communication skills. She is additionally keen to contribute to the excellent reputation of PMU.
