Ms. Fatima Shamdeen is a Lebanese national, working as a lecturer in the department of Human and Social Studies at PMU, KSA.

She received her BA and TD in Teaching of English as a Foreign Language from the Lebanese American University in Beirut in 1997, and her MA in Education in 2014 from the Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon.

Ms. Shamdeen has over 20 years of experience in teaching, research and curriculum development at the tertiary level. She has been involved in teaching EFL as well as education and liberal arts courses to students from different backgrounds and levels in Lebanon, USA, and India. In addition to her teaching experience, she has an extensive experience in translation across various fields.

Her research interests focus on integrating the 21-century skills and project-based learning to enhance both language acquisition and overall academic development. She is particularly interested in exploring how critical thinking can be fostered through collaborative, project-based learning environments that encourage students to problem-solve, innovate, and communicate effectively. Additionally, as a translator, she aims to investigate the role of translation not just as a language tool, but also as a way to promote intercultural understanding in order to prepare students for success in a rapidly changing global landscape.

With a passion for education and commitment to cultural exchange, Ms. Shamdeen hopes to contribute to preparing self-directed students at PMU who can stretch their linguistic limits and achieve their goals in KSA and beyond.
