Dr. Frederik Rech joins PMU as an Assistant Professor in Finance in the Department of Accounting and Finance, College of Business Administration. He holds a Ph.D. in Financial Management from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, China, and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, and Investment from Matej Bel University, Slovakia.
During his recent appointment as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Instructor at Beijing Institute of Technology, in a joint position with Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, Dr. Rech taught undergraduate courses in English, including Equity Investment, Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking and Innovation, and Career Planning and Development. His teaching philosophy focuses on practical, interactive, and case-based learning, connecting financial theory with real-world decision-making, investment practice, business cases, student projects, and critical thinking.
Dr. Rech has published in several high-quality peer-reviewed journals, including Oeconomia Copernicana, Journal of Competitiveness, Journal of Organizational Change Management, and Finance Research Letters. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, including Business Strategy and the Environment, Business Ethics, the Environment & Responsibility, Kybernetes, Applied Economics, and Applied Economics Letters. He has also authored and co-authored teaching cases published by Harvard Business Publishing. His research interests include financial distress prediction, firm-level financial risk, ESG, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applications in finance and business.
Through his teaching, research, and student mentorship, Dr. Rech is committed to preparing a new generation of finance professionals and business leaders equipped with practical, analytical, and technology-driven skills. He looks forward to contributing to PMU’s academic mission and supporting the development of Saudi Arabia’s financial and business sectors in line with Vision 2030.
