My training and experience is in both education and business. I studied Business and Finance at Sparsholt Agricultural College, Hampshire, UK, and hold an MA in Applied Linguistics at the University of Essex, UK.  Initially providing administrative support in a variety of roles, I then taught EFL in Germany, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and have worked in Further and Higher Education for almost twenty years, predominantly at the University of Essex (General English and EAP) and Colchester Institute, in the UK, where, in addition to delivering ESOL and EFL programmes over several years, from 2016-2018 I was the  Stepping Up Course Leader (ESOL for 16-19 yr olds) and was responsible for managing teachers, organising timetables, running the Physical and Social Development (PSD) programme, liaising with parents/carers and social workers, and assisting the students with their future study pathways.

I love working with students to help them achieve their aims. I am a resilient, enthusiastic teacher, goal orientated and collaborative. My EFL experience covers the Cambridge suite of exams, IELTS, City and Guilds and Trinity ESOL qualifications and as far as EAP (English for Academic Purposes) I have delivered three Pre-Sessional EAP programmes, twice at Cardiff University, Wales, and once at Essex, University in the UK. I have taught In-Sessional EAP to degree students at Princess Noura University in Riyadh, KSA. VLE experience includes Edmodo, Moodle, Yammer, Zoom and MS Teams. I am familiar with Canvas as a Learning Management System, and am now developing my experience using Blackboard.

I have a husband and two adult sons, who are all currently in the UK. For leisure, I enjoy travel, textile arts and gardening.
