  • Alessandro Saccal, PhD

  • Job Title :

    Associate Professor

    Mathematical Economist

  • College :

    College of Business Administration

  • Department :

    Accounting & Finance

Dr. Alessandro Saccal joined PMU as an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance, College of Business Administration.

He holds a PhD in Economics and Finance from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, and an MSc in Mathematics from the Heriot-Watt University, UK.

He previously served as a Senior Lecturer in Finance at WIUT, Uzbekistan, and as a tenure track Assistant Professor of Economics at TIET, India.

His teaching philosophy consists of a comprehensive evaluation on the one hand and a thorough delivery on the other, the respective benefits of which are the focus on the student's comparative advantages and the traditional insight into theory and applications, with an emphasis on rigour.

His foundational attention to deductive reasoning and metaphysical knowledge is an asset he is determined to draw upon and pass on to others in the ambitious effort of artificial intelligence’s internalisation.

His research interests span international economics, macroeconomics, mathematical economics, microeconomics, econometrics, (economic) history, mathematical finance, asset pricing, logic, Thomism and languages, having repeatedly published scientific articles in Q1 journals according to the Scopus index as well as independent texts.

His current research topics are centred on the efficiency of neo-protectionism, the probability of governmental forms, the expedience of digital currencies, the economics of Piero Sraffa, the macro-econometrics of Uzbekistan, the adoption of evolutionary game theory and statistical mechanics in economics, the revisitation of share prices formation and the formalisation of the 24 Thomistic Theses.

More broadly, he has extensive training and experience with equilibrium models, dynamical systems, vector auto-regressions, linear regressions, contracts, predicate calculus, history, Thomistic philosophy and theology, which he holistically intends to place at the disposal of the University and Saudi Arabia at large, in a modest attempt to propel the latter’s affirmation as an anchor of international calibre.
