Dr Augusta Evans joins PMU as an Assistant Professor of Marketing with expertise spanning Business, Digital Marketing and Tourism. She holds a PhD from the University of Bedfordshire, United Kingdom. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), reflecting her commitment to teaching excellence and professional standards in higher education.
With over 15 years of teaching and professional experience, Dr Evans has delivered and led programmes across Levels 3–7 in both UK and international institutions. Her experience includes academic leadership, curriculum design, internal quality assurance, and apprenticeship coordination. She specialises broadly in digital marketing and adopts a teaching philosophy centred on student engagement through real-world application, critical thinking, and inclusive learning practices that support diverse student needs and employability.
Dr Evans is a research-active academic with publications and conference contributions focused on shock advertising, consumer behaviour, and destination management. She has presented her work at international tourism and marketing forums and continues to contribute to scholarly discourse in these areas. Her research interests include ethical marketing, behavioural influence, and the role of advertising in shaping public behaviour, particularly within tourism and transport contexts. She has also secured research funding from organisations such as Research England and PRME UK & Ireland.
Beyond academia, Dr Evans is actively involved in humanitarian and professional initiatives, including charities such as Women on the Frontline and PROFOH (Professions for Humanity). She also supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as a consultant, helping organisations enhance their marketing strategies and growth. She is committed to advancing teaching, research, and industry collaboration, with a strong focus on contributing to innovation, education, and economic development, particularly in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s strategic vision.
