Dr. Wael Al-Kouz is an associate professor, goal-driven, project oriented mechanical engineer, a passionate educator, an entrepreneur, and a recognized CFD and energy expert. He combines seventeen years of academic research and teaching experience, with an exceptional industrial track record. Dr. Al-Kouz holds both Canadian and Jordanian citizenships. He is fluent in both English and Arabic languages.

Dr. Al-Kouz received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2009 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), USA. After finishing his Ph.D., Dr. Al-Kouz moved to Canada where he worked in industry as a senior professional mechanical engineer, designer and a project manager. He also worked as a part timer research associate at the University of Manitoba. In 2013 he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at the German Jordanian University and later served as Head of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering during the period between 2015 and 2016 where he was in charge of coordinating and supervising quality assurance, accreditation, strategic planning, faculty development, budgeting and faculty assessment activities. In 2016, Dr. Al-Kouz was promoted to an associate professor.

Dr. Al-Kouz offers extensive experience in simulation methods and modeling of non-equilibrium, multi-component, multi-scale, gaseous flows as well as macro-, micro- and nano-scale fluid transport processes. In addition, Dr. Al-Kouz is recognized for adeptness in finite differencing, finite volume, spectral collocation methods, and finite element methods along with a strong mathematical background. Dr. Al-Kouz had published 26 articles in prestigious international journals as well as he had participated in numerous international conferences.

Dr. Al-Kouz hopes to contribute to preparing an outstanding generation of Engineers that will help shape the future of energy in KSA and the region.
