Mr. Saifullah Shafiq is a Lab Instructor in Electrical Engineering Department at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU). He has more than 3 years of teaching and research experience with excellent teaching records and exceptional research expertise at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). Mr. Shafiq earned his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from KFUPM, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 2017. His M.Sc. research work dealt with smart grid, electric vehicles, and distributed energy resources. Before joining KFUPM, he received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan in 2014.
Mr. Shafiq worked on various projects at KFUPM, including funded projects by King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Deanship of Research (DSR) at KFUPM while pursuing his M. Sc. degree. In one of the projects, he made an autonomous communication-free charge controller for electric vehicles which is, currently, under consideration to be filed as US patent.
Mr. Shafiq has developed several schemes for renewable resources sizing, optimal sitting of renewable resources and battery energy storage, and demand response management for smart grid applications. He is an author/co-author of more than 15 research publications in recognized international journals and conferences. He is a member of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
