Dr. Samia Kort is a Tunisian national joining PMU as an Assistant Professor in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences. She speaks English, Arabic and French, and has over 15 years of experience in working with students as an educator, academic mentor and research supervisor.
She received her Ph.D. degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics from the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK, in 2018. Her research interests integrate different domains within linguistics, including Critical Discourse Analysis, Conceptual Metaphor Theory, Pragmatics, Intercultural Communication, and Corpus Linguistics. She has presented pieces of her research work at several reputable international conferences, and her work has been well-received in the fields of cognitive metaphor analysis and its application to real world issues.
Dr. Kort aims to continue conducting research activities that align with PMU goals of promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, diversity, cross-cultural understanding, and societal impact within local and global communities.
