Panos Sphicas is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU).
He has achieved the Academic Qualifications below:

  • 2015-2017 Research Fellow at Sandia National Laboratories
  • 2012-2014 Research Associate at Imperial College London
  • 2007-2012 PhD at Imperial College London
  • 2006-2007 Research Assistant at Imperial College London
  • 2006 BSc and MEng in Mechanical Engineering, NTUA

His research focuses on laser diagnostics applied to the understanding of fluid dynamics, and the development of clean engines, coupled with image processing and energy systems.
He is experienced with the design of high-pressure equipment,  health-and-safety certification and system automation. And he has worked as a consultant for the Oil Industry in Nigeria.
He is a reviewer for a number of international journals      (International Journal of Engine Research, SAE, ASME,    Combustion Science and Technology, etc…)
He is a Chartered Engineer and an Associate member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institute of    Physics (IoP) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
