Dr. Blessen Skariah Thomas is an Associate Professor (Research) in the Department of Civil Engineering at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University, Saudi Arabia. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and has over a decade of experience in academic teaching, high-impact research, and institutional leadership. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a Ramanujan Fellow at the National Institute of Technology Calicut and held postdoctoral research positions at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), Indian Institute of Science (India), and the American University of Sharjah (UAE). His academic career reflects strong international exposure and sustained contributions across India, China, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Thomas’s research focuses on sustainable and advanced construction materials, including green and geopolymer concrete, recycled and waste-derived materials, bio-based and CO₂-sequestering composites, and durability performance of cementitious systems. He has published extensively in leading SCI-indexed journals, holds multiple granted international patents, and has successfully led major government-funded research projects. He is actively involved in postgraduate supervision, journal editorial activities, and peer review for top-tier journals. Through his research, mentorship, and professional service, Dr. Thomas contributes significantly to advancing sustainable infrastructure and low-carbon construction practices.
